2012

I know it is kind of early to talk about 2012...but I'm excited! I will be a college grad in 2012 and I just want something to celebrate. What better way to celebrate then with a "college grad look."
Here's the deal:
New hair.
- short cut
- color change!
Yes! Yes! Yes!
The closest I've been to a hair cut is when I got bangs... -__- I don't even know if that is considered a change??? O.o
I never had a hair color change. My hair is jet black with specks [when you look real hard..and only at the front] of goldish/blonde color.
Anyway..ran across a picture with Monica and this is my Hairsperation!

I like the bang part of the hair. I can't cut my hair that short or else I would go in shock because that is definitely a big change. But the bang I definitely want to keep! I just need to figure out what to do with the rest.
A bob? Shoulder Length? Layers??
As for color...
reddish/brown? honey brown???
I just know I want it to be a shade of brown. It wouldn't be nothing but a rinse. But hey! That's a start..

Summer Dresses

I have been looking at Spring/Summer dresses lately. I have one style of dress that I would love to wear often. It is like a long dress that is cotton [maybe spandex] material. It hugs the body just right. Not too flow and not to fitted.
I have an example: [this example is just to give an idea, I don't necessarily want that scrunched up part]

These dresses are from Modcloth.
And again, these are the type style dresses that I am loving right now. With a little color and/or accessories, these babies are sure fire!

More Summer Plans

So as I stated in my previous blog..I will have a summer where I am reading books. It also hit me that this is my last real summer break. Since I am graduating, the summers after this are going to be different from the summers I am used to. I'm also still stuck on the fact that summer '10 was #epic! I loved every minute of it and I learned so much about my personal relationships with others--or the lack there of. And I have decided that I want a repeat of last summer this summer, except some aspects of it. I will enjoy summer '11! It is going to be all about me! And empowering myself and growing in myself and overall just learning about me! I am definitely looking forward to it! The spirit of being carefree is just lovely!

As I write this blog, I want to encourage everyone to make sure you stop and think about yourself. It is nothing wrong with being selfeshly in love with yourself. Enjoying your time to yourself. Whether or not you are single or in a relationship. Me time is always good. It blocks us from all the noise and outside world. It is time to think and evaluate your life and aspirations. Most importantly, it is time for loving yourself and growing and learning about you!

Book Club

So I definitely need to get on my reading skills again! I definitely miss how I had not a care in the world but to finish a book to find out what exactly happened. But in search of loving me, I vow to spend more time reading and indulging in what I like and love and less time on social networking. [expect for blogging of course!]..
Anyway, my summer reading is building up! Because I only plan to have 6 hours of summer classes, I can definitely read. What is on my list of summer reading?

Must Have

When I was younger, I used to always wear a watch. I quickly got out of that habit. However, I would like to relive that habit!
I think it's important to wear a watch. It makes you look more professional and it also shows that you are aware of the time. [the obvious!]
Might as well look fashionable wearing one. Like I am feenin for this one particular style of watch!

I would like the first pictured one because it is all white. I would wear it for like an everyday thing.
The second watch is of course the same style, but I would like a gold one instead of silver. This one would be for when I am dressed up or when I have something on that my all white one wouldn't look right with. I saw an all white one online at Khols..hopefully it is in the store when I drop by there! *crosses fingers*.

I just love this song! I guess because of the beat and tempo off it. Even the words. As of right now the words have no meaning to me. It's just every time I hear this song I have to repeat it. By the way..I am a BIG A.Keys fan.

Fear

All our lives, we set goals. We inspire to be. We strive to be. But some of us never really blossom. Why is this? It is simply because of fear. Fear of the unknown. If we knew exactly how things were gonna go, life would be much simpler. Decisions would be easier. Certain things could be avoided. But we know not the plan God has for us. Though an unseen path may be scary and though we must be hesitant, we have to trust in God to lead and direct our path. Step on faith. Do not be afraid of the things that are in your path. For with prayer, God will prepare you for everything that crosses your path.
Don't be a photocopy of someone, be original. Be you. Dare to be different, but do not be so different that you lose sight of the things promised. Never doubt yourself. For if someone sees that you are questioning your decisions, then they will not be confident in what you can do.
In the end, just do not be scared to do the unthinkable. To be the greatest you can be. To succeed.

PS: this wk's black history events have been #epic! I have learned a whole lot. One thing that I learned tonight: before you can love others you must love yourself. How can you offer someone something you dont have. If you dont have love for yourself, you can't give love to others. ::it Was some other great stuff but i just cant remember!

Searching

The other day I thought: What do I want out of a relationship?
I am not talking about how I expect the man to treat me, but deeper than that.
In life, we should learn from experience. Rather it be good or bad.
As I digress,
I want to grow in my next relationship. Meaning, I want my "other" to teach me how to love myself even more than I already do. I want my "other" to teach me about what this world has to offer. Teach me things that I have been yearning to learn but needed that extra push. Just feel me with knowledge in every aspect of the world. It is always good to lean something new, and what better way to do it then with the one you love?
Growth is good.
