Sinful Colors
So yeah..I know I've been blogging about OPI nail collection. However, I have decided to drop OPI..due to the fact that I am definitely on a college girl's budget! Sinful Colors..which is something I am familiar with [Tokyo Pearl is a previous color I have reviewed]. I found out that this polish is true to itself! It last so long on the nails. I looked them up..and I am not the only one who is hype about this nail polish! A little over $2 for each bottle?? Something you can't beat! And right now..I have on some ruby red from them: Enjoy!

Tis the Season to Go Shopping..
Hey you guys!
I don't like posting pics of what I am wearing or what I purchased but I did make quit a few investments this weekend! :-)
I got some boots from DSW, a winter jacket from Burlington's, and a few staple items from [Old Navy].
In a previous post I talked about having some jeans as a staple outfit and guess what??
In my newly purchased Old Navy jeans the inside said: go ahead, wear me everyday!
And I thought that was so cute because a blogger said she wore a pair of jeans everyday for a week and no one knew!
And I am not ashamed to say..I wear some jeans a couple of days a week! As long as they don't stink, might as well! ;-)
Anyway! I also purchased some hair items to get my start on this new journey!

PS: I saw some OPI nail polish at my hair store! Unfortunately, I didn't make that investment! But I should have..they had some colors in honor of the Burlesque [sp] movie.

Thanksgiving
Hey everyone! Haven't blogged in awhile due to the fact that I haven't had anything to blog about.
I hope everyone had a joyous Thanksgiving. There is certainly a lot to be thankful for! We must continue to be thankful for little so that we may receive much.
I decided to go on a new journey in life. I'm trying to grow in every way possible. I guess you can say I have a lot on my plate, but I'm hungry--for life!
But that's beside the point. When I say that I'm going on a new journey, I meant with my hair.
For reasons I will not discuss, I decided to learn how to do my own hair. To where it looks professional. I am going to start youtubing videos and researching on the best hair products. I know i have a head full of hair so it will be time consuming for me, but I am willing to learn about my hair and what I need to do. I'm excited! I know it will be a hard process but I'm ready! I will be doing updates via blog..maybe even launch a blog just for hair. But before I began anything, I'm going to make sure I have done a lot of research.

Pain and Difficulties
We as humans, do not want to feel pain. But what doesn't kill you will only make you stronger. I am listening to a young pastor right now and what he is saying is making soo much since!
The Lord doesn't put on you more than you can bear!
However, pain needs to happen [rather it is physical, mental, emotional] because then will you draw near God.
If you notice, most people only come to God in time of need. God wants us to come to Him. Of course, He prefer if you come to Him all the time. But to know that you will come to Him in time of need warms His heart!
So don't ask God why every time something happens that isn't how you want it to. Everything happens for a reason and God will see you through everything! Pain and all...
Seriously, ya'll should listen to his sermon.
He says that sin is stronger than you. You cannot walk away from sin because it feels too good. Sin will bargain with you. Temptation is real! And slowly but surely you walk away from God because sin feels so good. Even though God is treating you real good, you walk away.
Anyway,, I'm not go blog about the whole sermon..it's ling, but good!

Generalized Thoughts
I know someone who can hardly be their self for all the sorry's they've given me.
I know someone who can't even give valid information becuase all the excuses they've given me.
Well...
My love's to old school to be thrown back in my face.
The bags can be packed with out my things. Because what's mine is mine..and what is yours is yours.
Mentally, my door is locked and permanently closed. I'm not going to even hide the key. I'm going to throw it in the trash..and i'm taking the trash out today!

Black is Beautiful
So this past semester in school, I have come to the realization that according to most boys/men (however you choose to call them) are less attracted to dark skin girls.
I've just seen too many incidents where darker skin girls are turn down for lighter ones. I really want to know why. Is it because the average dark girl really doesn't look as good as the lighter one? Or is it simply that boys aren't attracted to darker girls..
It's kind of frustrating because I know plenty of dark skin girls who are beautiful, including myself, but is less likely to have a dude approach her. Then there are even the not so cute light girls who gets hella play from dudes. O_o confused much!

I really need to buy me some OPI nail polish and UP my nail polish game!
I love doing my nails..wish I had them looking like a professional thou! :)
OPI game out with a new line via Katy Perry and a William sister [can't remember which one, sorry!..i need to do better]
but they have this black splash one! It looks so professional because all it is is a top coat that basically design the nail for you! Gotta have it!
anyway..bout to do some online OPI nail shopping!

Confession..Ugh!
So I have a slight confession: I do not like wearing jeans!
Why? They are just so uncomfortable to me, I rather wear khakis!
This my friends, is why people see me in khakis and trousers on a day to day basis more than people see me in jeans. I gotta be quite lazy to wear jeans.

For Colored Girls
So I just got back from the movies and I saw "For Colored Girls". uh..blog worthy?
Heck yeah!
This movie will have you in tears, more than one time, for several different reason!
I do not want to give too much of the movie away..so I won't go into details!
However, I will say that I certainly loved the dialogue and could place it with what went on in the book.
This movie was so good that I will be buying the DVD! ..and I don't even buy DVDs.
I am buying the DVD more so because of the dialogue because it was just amazing!
And really had you thinking.
My favorite actresses in THIS movie?
Loretta Devine. Anika Noni Rose. the younger sister [forgive me for not knowing her name]

God's Promises and Answers
I had to work the SAT yesterday and someone I was working with had the book God's Promises and Answer. Interested in what it was about, I opened it and found out it was the answer to literally... every problem!
If you are sick, need help in faith, question marriage and divorce, etc..
it basically gave you every scripture that deals with certain problems or situations.
I love it! ..it was exactly something I wanted [maybe I will ask for it for Christmas].
The book is pretty thick and when I looked at the table of contents it was pretty long. So that just goes to show it covers a lot..like seriously, I do not know how much to stress that it is pretty nice!

Chivalry!
Why do people say chivalry is dead?
Is it really dead, or is it sleeping?
I would have to say it is sleeping.
There are still men out there who open doors, let women have their seats, and even pick things up that women have dropped.
At the same time..there are some men who do not do a thing! I think the chivalrous men should teach those who have no clue a few lessons.
It also starts with the women, in two different ways.
For one, what are we raising our sons to be? Do we teach them that they should open the door for us, or do we open the door for ourselves? I know that most men [black men at least] are raised in a single parent home where the mom is the single parent. Are these mothers talking to their sons and teaching them what they should/shouldn't do?
Part 2: are women allowing men to be chivalrous? Are we saying no thank you to things when men tell us that they can do it? Are women too independent?
Perfect example: [and I thought about it when it happened] today at work, I dropped my phone. My case came off of it and everything. However, I was carrying other things in my hands so it was somewhat hard for me to pick it up. A young Caucasian man told me he would pick it up and was even half way near the ground to pick it up. However, I said "it's okay, I got it" and picked it up myself. Now, I am kind of kicking myself in the butt for it, but I should have let him be the man and pick it up like he said he would.
Men probably are thinking: these women these days are so independent and claim they don't need a man to do anything for them and that they can take care of themselves, so what is the point of even trying?
*Deep sigh* As women, that is something that has to be worked on as well!
So in the end, women need to let men do the kind things they do without being so quick to prove that we can do it!

Healthy Living
So from kindergarten to about 2nd grade, I never had a real occupation. I wanted to be a mommy! lol reality set in the when a girl told me that every girl can be a mommy. So after that I told every one I wanted to be a dentist,

As I digress,
I always had this idea that when I get pregnant, I'm going to eat right and exercise daily. When I say eat right, I mean: nofried foods, no sweets, right portions, and so on...
And everyone that knows me knows that I love love love sweets! I always joke and say I have a permanent sweet tooth!
I am alright just as long as I have sweets and meets!
But as I was thinking.. it will be real hard to stop all this stuff as soon as I found out I was pregnant. What I need to do is prepare now! So I am putting myself on a strict diet! ..and no, it is not to lose weight. It is for exactly what I said, diet..which means healthy living : for me at least!
So, for the love of me, I will TRY to stop eating fried foods [of course it will take time so I am giving myself 2 days out of the week for now], no sweets [except for once a week and special occasions (such as" Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, my birthday!)], more grilled or baked food, and PLENTY of vegetables.and vitamins! :)

Oxfords
A long time friend, who was a former high school classmate and currently my peer at my university, Ashley just created a blog. Finally! Ya'll don't understand..it's been a long time coming!
Anyway, all through the summer she tweeted about oxfords. She even recently blogged about it.
My love for oxfords? I love them!
However, I have not made an investment in them, which will soon change.
I don't know if I want an oxford with a heel on them or not.
My perfect oxford? Well, no pics yet but I will soon post some of my favorites!

He Keeps on Blessing Me
During my second shift at work [I normally don't do those], I felt like a shield of God come over me..if that makes sense!
But, I just got a whiff of how much God is blessing me!
Like seriously...as I tweeted: this semester started off rough [money-wise]. So rough that I did not want to leave the financial stability of my parents. I was durn sho' near tears when they were leaving. And it was not because of them, but because of me being broke!
And I just realized now: that God will supply all my needs! like seriously, don't look at the situation at hand, look at what your future [or goal] can hold!
And looking at the present situation [at that time] and now, I would have never thought I would have made it!
I'm getting job opportunities, more hours at my current work place and extra time to work other things to get extra money.
I mean, I know money is not everything, but it sho'll feels good to have it! :)
That's beside the point!..it just feels so good to know that God was working in my favor. He will never put you in more than you can bare. This is why I am slowly learning not to complain about little things because what I am going through someone else could be going through the same situation or worse!
It also goes to show how you are suppose to carry yourself. I guarantee no one knew how I felt unless I told them, because I always kept that smile.
