Black is Beautiful

So this past semester in school, I have come to the realization that according to most boys/men (however you choose to call them) are less attracted to dark skin girls.
I've just seen too many incidents where darker skin girls are turn down for lighter ones. I really want to know why. Is it because the average dark girl really doesn't look as good as the lighter one? Or is it simply that boys aren't attracted to darker girls..
It's kind of frustrating because I know plenty of dark skin girls who are beautiful, including myself, but is less likely to have a dude approach her. Then there are even the not so cute light girls who gets hella play from dudes. O_o confused much!
