For New Years Eve I attended Watch Night service. The preacher was coming from Romans 12:2.
Do not be conformed into the world, but be transformed bu the renewing of your mind. Proving what is good and acceptable unto God.
When he read this scripture it was almost like a light bulb hit! Too many times we as humans try to fit in. But we were not made to fit in. We were made to stand out so that others can see how different we really are. The only person we should look to please is God, not your best friend, significant other, or even family. Even though, I do not look for any one's approval, it just opened my eyes to not even care what others have to say about me. As long as what I am doing is pleasing the Lord, then I have nothing else to prove.
The pastor also talked about how people are so quick to WANT to change. But how many times are we quick to say we want change versus actually changing. If you are going to talk the talk, then you must be willing to walk the walk. "Actions speak louder than words." So in order to change what is going to happen to us next, we must change what is happening to us now. His message was change now, for next. I loved that soo much! Because it is almost like we say okay "Ima do better next time." But no, next time is now!
Anyway..just a little food for thought!
Love me,
B!

This is very interesting yet so true. his is one of the reasons why I no longer believe in "New Years Resolutions" because I feel like why wait until a new year has started to stop or start doing something. Time waits for no man and no time is better than the present.
