Respect

Respect isn't given, it is earned. I believe each person has their set ways, meaning if you do certain things then the respect that person has for you is lost. But God teaches us to forgive. Can you forgive but still have no respect for that person? How many times does it take until you finally put your foot down and say 'enough'. When people say they will do better, do they mean it but quickly retreat back to their old ways. Or do they lie about it? I feel like people 'wake up' at the wrong time. In life, everything is a process but you have to press start or go in order for growth. If you aren't willing to see what needs to change from the inside, then dont tell anybody how you think they should change. You have to have peace within yourself in order to have peace with others. So again, is it just safe to leave a situation/person alone until you see the growth that has taken place? If so, would that person really learn a lesson? Or will they continue to be spoiled by you constantly forgiving them and staying by their side? People cannot be another person's crutch or fall back plan. Everyone should have guidelines on how far something should go. If not, that person will never act like they appreciate or respect you.
Love me,
B!
