"Love does not begin and end the way we seem to think it does. Love is a battle, love is war; love is a growing up."-James Baldwin
I absolutely agree with him. We think love is something that is easy, but it's not. It is work. Like life, you have to work for what you want.
I know I write a lot of post about love or whatever and I know how I talk about how I wanna be in love, but I am happy with where I am at right now. Just thought I would let ya'll know! Love takes a lot of work and personally I am not ready to work for it right now! Which is why I am happy. I'm being a little selfish right now...self-love is the best love.
I am reading Ebony magazine right now and they are making some good points when it comes to Black Love. For one, the say that respect and kindness are foundations for a healthy relationship. As I stress about so much, everything lines up under respect. If you respect me, you know that there are certain things I do not allow. It is a disgrace if anyone doesn't respect you. So why be in a relationship with someone who disrespects you by doing things you disapprove??

PS: everyone should pick up the November issue of Ebony!
It's there 65th anniversary and on top of that! they are talking bout some deep issues! makes you think...
