I feel like the sanctity of marriage has been blurred. Thank God my parents are still married, but some people's parents aren't [whether they never were or because they are divorced.] And I am not downing that in any kind of way.
Most marriages fail because of lack of control or money.
The first reason I think marriages fail is because the partners are unequally yoked. When the Bible mentions this, it is because it touches on the saved/unsaved marriages. But we can look at it in a general view. Unequally yoked could be just because the minds aren't in the same place.
When you are married, both of the partners must make each other grounded. It's like any relationship, you must compromise but not give in. Both partners need to know what each other likes or need.
I speak so heavily on this because I do want to get married one day, but I refuse to get married more than once and I refuse to have a divorce. I need something that will last. And it just makes me sad to see people cheating on their spouse or getting divorces for reasons that could have been avoided.
*sigh* I just want a perfect marriage. and even though ppl say there is no thing as a perfect relationship. that should not be any one's mindset. Strive for the best.
